The Unseen Guest at Our Table

Today's Scripture

And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? (Luke 24:13-35)

As we navigate the complexities of our daily lives, it's easy to overlook the potential for divine encounters. The story of the Emmaus disciples reminds us that Christ can walk alongside us, even when we don't recognize Him. Their hearts burned within them as Jesus opened the Scriptures to them, illustrating how His presence can illuminate our understanding and warm our hearts.

The disciples' encounter with the risen Christ on the road to Emmaus challenges us to consider how often we might be experiencing God's presence without realizing it. As we walk through our days, we can invite Christ into our conversations, decisions, and interactions, trusting that He desires to reveal Himself to us. Recognizing Christ's presence requires a willingness to slow down and engage with Him in our daily activities.
